Thrivent is a faith-based membership organization. The purpose is to strengthen Christian communities by helping members be wise with money and inspiring them to live generously. Some of the projects from Thrivent for Bethlehem and the community include:
  • Providing gifts at Christmas for local children with Angel Tree,
  • Providing "Back-to-school" supplies and winter coats for Adult Survival House;
  • Providing supplies and food for the Food Center;
  • Led church-wide "Blanket-the-County" with blankets and coats;
  • Providing medical kits for Johnson County Community Health;
  • Financially supported the Homeless Shelter;
  • Hold bake sales twice a year to raise money for projects;
  • Provide candy/fruit sacks for children after the Christmas Program; Provided soup dinner for Ash Wednesday;
  • Provided Vacation Bible School evening meal;
  • Provided financial assistance for Meals-On-Wheels;
  • Provided financial assistance for Good News Lutheran Church in Papa New Guinea;
  • Provided confirmation crosses and baptismal medallions;
  • Volunteers to Joplin for disaster help; and paying for lighting projects to be done in the Fellowship Hall.
